Lynskey Performance
Not so long ago, titanium was the "it" material. Then carbon came along
and ti tended to get overlooked, which is a shame because ti can do
things that carbon can't. For instance, if you desire a frame custom
built to your body, with a ride quality tailored to your wishes, ti
comes in at half the price of custom carbon. In fact, for less than the
price of most high end carbon production frames you can have a full
custom ti frame finished however you'd like to make your bike truly an
expression of yourself.
What's more, titanium lasts forever, doesn't rust and can actually be
lighter than carbon. Ride quality can range from super plush to bone
rattlingly stiff. But, like the very best carbon, it can offer that
magic combination of comfort and stiffness. It can feel like there's
suspension underneath you when going over bumps but there's no
energy-wasting flex at the bottom bracket. It's a paradox that very few
builders have solved. But Lynskey has and that's a good reason why we
offer their handbuilt frames.
Their production frames share most of the elements that make Lynskey's
custom frames so spectacular. Tubing choice, geometry, and the
knowledge that comes from building ti frames in-house since the 1980s
combine to produce frames of a quality simply not offered anywhere
else. And their finishes are so spectacular that they simply defy the
camera. We invite you to come in and see for yourself just what makes a
Lynskey frame so special.
And if you love to travel and want to take your bike with you, Lynskey
can build your frame with S&S couplers. These allow the frame to
separate into two halves to be packed in a case the size of regular
checked luggage, thereby saving you hundreds of dollars per trip in
airline charges. People who have ridden S&S equipped bicycles are
stunned to find that the ride is utterly unaffected by the couplers,
which are things of beauty in their own right.
We have a limited selection of Lynskeys available for test rides.
Choose one and it will be the last frame you will ever need to buy.
