Cervelo Bikes

cervelo frameRarely can you buy speed. There are lots of promises out there, but very few things can make you instantly faster. Deep dish wheels can. And now so can your frame. The Cervelo Soloist is so much more aerodynamic than other road frames, without compromising stiffness or weight, that it will make you faster. Paired with very aero wheels, you'll be destroying your previous personal bests without even trying.

Staff members who have spent extensive time test riding the Soloists noted faster commuting times day after day after day and, due to the exceptional stiffness of the frame, the ability to hold a higher gear longer when climbing. It is astonishing to realize just how much energy is routinely wasted on frames that flex too much in the wrong areas. If speed is your priority, this bike will give it to you.

What does $2000 buy you from other manufacturers? Low level carbon that's more resin than carbon, feels like it's made out of lead and that no pro would be caught dead on.  From Cervelo, however, you can get the speed boost of a Soloist but in an aluminum frame. It's the same bike that has won Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Nice, the Criterium International and was ridden by team CSC in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana. If you could get all this in a $2000 frame, it would be amazing. That you can get the whole bike, wheels and all, well, here's what Bicycling Magazine had to say: "I can't fathom the price.  With its laser ride, Ultegra level spec and fine pedigree, this has to be the fastest, most storied $2300 bike in the world." Dropping the price this year to $2000 makes it that much better. There is no other bicycle that comes close to offering the performance of the Soloist Team for so little money.

And if time trials or triathlons are your game, you probably already know that Cervelo's P3 is simply faster than any other bike out there. This is a "no compromises" TT bike. There are no concessions to comfort and stability. Exceptional handling skills and focus are required to get the best from this bike. Even the best can get it wrong (just ask CSC's Dave Zabriskie). So why take the risk? Because the P3 is just faster, winning over 50% of the UCI TT's last year. If you're a contender, this bike will help get you on the podium.

cerveloP3Since the P3 is the world's most aerodynamic frame, would it surprise you to learn that the P2 is the second? But it gets better. The P2 does not suffer from any high strung tendencies. We have customers with both a P2 and a P3 and they very often choose to race on their P2s because, although they give up a tiny amount of speed, they gain stability that helps them to finish the race. And we must not forget that the 2nd most aerodynamic bicycle in the world is a very, very fast bicycle.

The R3 was designed to be a pure climber's bike. With its massive "squoval" downtube and chain stays, this bike only really needs seat stays to hold the rear brake. So, on this bike, they are surprisingly thin and compliant but it will still impress you with its ability to transfer absolutely every last watt of power into forward motion. If you're worried about it being too stiff and uncomfortable, come on in and take it for a test ride. That's the only way you'll know if it's right for you.

CerveloR3If you like the R3 but favor long rides, the RS was designed for you. With a longer steering tube than the R3 you can ride in a more upright position for greater comfort over the long haul. The chainstays were lengthened a bit, too, so you'll be on a very stable platform that soaks up bumps and road vibration better than its sibling. But it is still plenty stiff where it needs to be so that you won't be wasting energy on too much flex. In fact, it is ridden by pros in the most demanding races the cycling world has to offer.

If the differences seem subtle, just take the bikes on an extended test ride.

There's no better way to find the ride of your life.
